Airport Accessability

Accessibility starts before you arrive at the airport

Request special assistance when booking your ticket

Each airine has the option to add special assistance on thier websites as an option when you are booking.

Pick the services you or your loved one needs, they're free!

Each airline offers similar accessible services, from assistance navigating the airport with a wheelchair to pre-boarding if you just need extra time to get onto the plane and settled before take off.

Special assistance is included in your ticket

AIrlines do not charge extra for thier speical assistance, but it is also thoughtful to give your porter pushing the wheelchair a small gratuitty as a thank you for getting you to your gate safely!

Wheelchair assistance

When requiring wheelchair assistance, you must first print out your boarding ticket, which can be done at the ticket counter, and then you present the boardingd pass to the porter.  The porter will then navigate with the family to TSA, and will help with the security process.

Do you have TSA Precheck?

Make sure your porter has the correct credentials!  This has been a particular problem at Orlando International Airport.

At the gate

Whether you need to be pushed onto the plane, or you can walk, the porter will station you, and the wheelchair, with your family in the handicapped seating area of your gate.  You will then be able to board before pre-boarding starts, giving you the ability to enter onto the plane without having to stand in a long line, and giving you the ability to settle in before the rush of passengers.  Only one person will be able to pre-board with you, the rest of your family will need to wait for thier boarding assignment.
